Julius Baer hires former Bank of Singapore exec as market head South East Asia

Julius Baer has hired Nira Tanoko, former Bank of Singapore market head, Indonesia, to join its leadership team.

Julius Baer has hired Nira Tanoko as market head South East Asia as the Swiss-headquartered bank looks to expand its presence in the region.

Tanoko will be based in Singapore and will be tasked with growing the bank’s franchise and talent base. She starts the role in November 2026.

She joins from Bank of Singapore, where she held the position of market head, Indonesia. Julius Bear said she has previously consistently built and grown market-leading client franchises across the region.

Jimmy Lee, region head Asia at Julius Baer said: “South East Asia remains a strategically important market with significant long-term growth potential.”

“Nira’s deep understanding of the region, strong leadership capabilities and commitment to delivering exceptional client service make her well positioned to lead our South East Asia business into its next phase of growth.”

Reporting to Lee, Tanoko will join the Asia management committee as part of the bank’s leadership team and oversee teams serving high and ultra-high-net-worth clients across the region.

Tanoko saod: “I am honoured to join Julius Baer at such a defining moment for South East Asia. The region presents compelling growth opportunities, and with the clear, dedicated leadership here, we are well positioned to capture it.”
